P-40 Warhawk
The P-40 Warhawk was a one-seat fighter. It was also the first WWII fighter to be produced in large numbers. A total of 16,802 P-40 airplanes were produced. It wasn’t as fast as the P-51 Mustang, but it looked great with a tiger painted on its nose! I looked really cool and it was very tough also. The Warhawk didn’t get the respect that it should have. It performed well in lots of terrains. It had a maximum speed of 343 MPH. With a wingspan of 37 feet, a length of 33 feet and a height of 10 feet and 7 inches it was a medium sized fighter. It had a 14,000 mile range and was 83,000 pounds loaded for battle. The P-40 was a good airplane that was extremely durable.
